February is full of heart!
It’s a month where we can all celebrate love and show appreciation to the dearest people in our lives. All that emotion, as you all may know, pumps through our hearts – and this is something that also deserves the same amount of care.
Aside from February being a month filled with the “lovey-dovey” feelings that make our hearts skip a beat, it is also American Heart Month. After all, your heart can’t beat to the tune of your happiness without it being healthy.
According to the CDC, American Heart Month is a time when all people can focus on their cardiovascular health. Furthermore, the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention uses this month as an opportunity to shine a light on hypertension, or high blood pressure, a leading risk factor for heart disease and stroke.
Showing your heart some love is important
For many people, any conversation revolving around heart health can seem intimidating. Still, there are some people who feel as though that topic doesn’t pertain to them because they’re young, have no family history of cardiovascular issues, or because they are fit.
