Alicia Becerra and Andrea Laguna have lived in Dubai for eight years. Both passionate about fashion, the Argentinean and Colombian have joined forces to create a bridge between complementary markets and support international talent.

Thus, these Latinas founded Bright Black Fashion, an international digital platform where participants from around the world will face challenges to showcase their talent. Established names in the fashion industry will be part of the selection team to choose the winner of each category based on the finalists’ work.

As reported by Channel 24, Andrea Laguna is a Colombian singer who moved to Dubai eight years ago and strives to give a chance to young and dynamic talents from all over the world. Later, she became an independent artist in the UAE.

In the meantime, Laguna started talking about how to support people looking for new beginnings or looking to gain new experiences by entering a competitive international market where constant improvement is the only way to succeed.

“We want to provide opportunities to talented people who haven’t got the chance to show everything they can do in their industry,” she said.

For her part, Alicia Becerra, from San Luis, Argentina, is an entrepreneur who has been working as a fashion designer in Dubai for four years and has always strived to help people overcome professional difficulties to improve their lives.

“Bright Black Fashion is an excellent beginning to the participant’s careers,” Becerra told the English media. “There is so much talent as well as diversity all across the globe, and many people work hard but didn’t get to the right place at the right time; all we want is to offer them that special chance to showcase themselves.”

Bring Black Fashion thus becomes an excellent start for the participants’ careers. Thanks to a vast network of contacts, Becerra and Laguna offer a unique opportunity to the creators.

After their first fashion show in Dubai, the entrepreneurs will tour Latin America, visiting countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico. The tour will also help them raise awareness among local and international designers. Their first season will be held in San Luis, Argentina, on May 7, 2022, at the La Punta convention center.

“Given the media partners we have right now (in Latin America and internationally), we can present our sponsors and engage a rising audience, and it is the way we will continue to support more and more skilled people around the world for this first season and the ones to come,” Laguna concluded.
