What does it mean to be an influencer? What is the true impact of influencers in the world? This new archetype of the 21st century has experienced substantial growth over the years and is directly proportional to their power to influence — from product sales to ideological lobbying.

However, and if we are objective, everyone has the potential to influence the world in their own way. But unleashing the effects of this magic involves deep inner work.

For years, we have witnessed the impact of influences — both positive and negative — on society, as well as the power of particular political campaigns or individuals.

Just as there have been times of unpleasant turmoil across the country, caused in part by a controversial, hurtful and insulting energy exchange, the world has also benefited from those who have made their influence a responsibility in the mission to make this a better world — think Dalai Lama, Yousafzai, Malala, Oprah Winfrey, Eckhart Tolle, Lewis Howes, Gabby Bernstein.

And there are many ways to influence

As human beings, we have the power to impact the lives of others in unimaginable ways. The key to influencing the world is to tap into the authentic, human source within us, to go to that genuine bottom that knows the true north.

However, this inner journey involves change, and, for most of us, stepping out of the comfort zone causes discomfort that is difficult to navigate. Despite the challenges, real change is possible, and making a difference in the world starts at home.

Personally, I have had to do a lot of inner work to gain a new perspective that allows me to help others honestly and authentically. The process has required changes to take place within me before making an external impact.

While these are just a few steps, the following list has been instrumental in my personal transition. My journey to becoming a better person includes spreading positive energy to anyone interested.

If you are looking to influencing others, consider making any or all of the following changes:

  • A shift in your mindset is huge when learning to use your influence. You should be in the proper headspace to attract growth opportunities. Having a strong mindset is helpful when processing life experiences. We are emotional beings constantly being challenged in many ways. Leaning into an empowering mental attitude will inspire you to create greatness within and share it with forward.
  • Embrace the change instead of resisting it. Much of our suffering occurs in the space where we refuse to accept the things that happen to us. Pain is inevitable. The best way to get over anything is to give yourself permission to feel. The only way out is really through — no shortcuts. Remember, you’re not alone in your pain because everyone has problems to overcome. Share your stories when you are ready. It’s one of the biggest ways human beings connect. We learn from one another and heal when this exchange takes place, such a fantastic way to influence the outside world.
  • The truth will set you free. Being comfortable in your authentic skin and knowing who you are is everything! It is one of the hardest decisions you will ever make but worth it. Living in your truth means asking yourself the tough questions. If you don’t know who you are, how can you pave the way or inspire others?

Although influence is a word that indicates an outward impact, it is essential to understand that improving the environment and the people around us starts with ourselves.

Personal and spiritual care inspires the best versions of ourselves. Working from a place of wellness produces the best results and generates a chain of positive influences.

If you are considering making any of these changes, you can be sure that they are within reach of what is possible. However, you should always know that the power of influence is a real responsibility that should not be taken lightly.

Don’t be afraid to do the work that brings you closer to your highest self, but always remember to check your “why” and your intentions to influence others during your personal transformation process.

Let’s work to shape humanity in a way that brings more good to the world’s table.
