Together At Home: Historic Event Brings Stars Together to Celebrate the Heroic Efforts of the Health Workers Community

Few events have brought the whole world together in one feeling as the coronavirus pandemic has done.

From China to Portugal, from Alaska to Patagonia, the entire world is facing a radical change in the way of life, some homebound, others in the pain of family losses, and many in the battle of healthcare facilities.

That’s why the World Health Organization, the Global Citizen movement, and Univision have joined forces to broadcast one of the most important concerts in recent years.

Under the title One World: Together At Home, on Saturday, April 18th, the whole world will be able to see virtual presentations of artists such as Adam Lambert, Andrea Bocelli, Camila Cabello, Celine Dion, Elton John, J Balvin, Jennifer Lopez, Juanes, Kesha, Luis Fonsi, and Paul McCartney.

Curated by Lady Gaga and hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the event aims to show unity among all people who are affected by COVID-19 and celebrate and support brave healthcare workers doing life-saving work on the front lines.

Thanks to the collaboration of Univision, the event will also feature commentary and simultaneous translation into Spanish.

“The broadcast will feature stories from frontline healthcare workers on the COVID response, commitments from philanthropists, governments and corporations to support and equip frontline healthcare workers around the world, with masks, gowns and other vital equipment, and to local charities that provide food, shelter, and healthcare to those that need it most,” the network explained in a statement.

Founded in 2008 by Hugh Evans, Simon Moss, and Wei Soo, and with its headquarters in New York, Global Citizen is a movement focused on eradicating extreme poverty by 2030, and has offices in Canada, South Africa, Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Since 2011, its digital platform has helped organize massive global campaigns, with more than 24 million actions targeting world leaders, and raising more than $48 million.
