Hola Mexico Film Festival is Back to Seek Latinx Representation in the Film Industry belatina latine

Hola Mexico Film Festival has announced the 7th edition of ‘Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today’ (TFT), a career development program offered to Latinx filmmakers based in the United States. It is just in time for the Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations!

This is a 10-day program that has the mission to increase Latinx representation in the television and film industry, according to TFT.

For the past seven years, TFT has selected 20 Latinx filmmakers between the ages of 21 to 35 years old to be part of this career growth intensive program that builds professional relationships among the participants — they have the opportunity to meet executives, talent, directors and leading figures in the industry.

The program also lets participants screen their short films during the Hola Mexico Film Festival, which will be taking place October 2-10, 2022 in Los Angeles, California.

“With every passing year, our commitment to TFT’s mission of inclusion and communal advancement is strengthened by the recurrent support of the entertainment community, but more importantly because we have witnessed the evolution and artistic growth of many of our alumni following the program,” said Diana Luna, director of TFT in a press release. “This year we have come across an incredible group of storytellers from across the country who represent a myriad of experiences within the diverse and complex Latine identity. We are excited to share their work with the Hola Mexico audience.”

TFT alumni are now made up of 100 Latinxs who continue to collaborate on different projects and grow their professional careers.
