You’ve been locked up with your partner since March, or maybe you’re away from them because of the pandemic. It’s all pretty depressing and uncertain this year, but the right gifts can brighten up life during this strange holiday season.

While some are heading home and taking extra precautions to keep their loved ones safe, others won’t be traveling at all, so gifts and small details will be even more important this year. If you’re not sure you’ll see your partner this Christmas, a gift is in order one that tries to soothe and honor them, almost as if you were present.

The first step in finding the perfect gift is to find out what your partner likes best at this time. Are they perfecting their cooking skills, improving their exercise routine, or would they simply like better clothes for sleeping or working from home?

Whatever’s on the agenda, you’ll surely find the perfect idea in this gift guide. From timeless slippers to portable speakers and handmade supplies, buy the best gifts for your partner, couples, or friends and keep the joy alive these holidays.

Gifts for friends or a first date

Whether you are looking to give a gift to a single person, a friend, or someone you are just dating, here are some simple ideas to get you started:

  1. Books: Giving books, especially those you love, are reading, or appreciate, is a way to invite that person to discover your interests, allowing them to get to know you better.
  2. Gifts from the coffee/tea world: Honestly, there is always plenty of coffee or tea items on my wishlist! With the popularity of coffee and tea, you can’t go wrong giving some of these gifts to show someone you care!
  3. Handwritten notes: The idea of a handwritten note or card is very hipster and very special. You are taking the time not to send a WhatsApp, but to write something on a postcard or a letter and mail it. Sometimes, something simple can mean a lot. With the rise of digital technology, when was the last time you took the time to write a handwritten note for someone? This can be a very thoughtful way to interact with someone writing a list of things you appreciate about them, reflections of the strange year we are living, some verses or poems, or the lyrics of your favorite songs. You don’t have to be an eloquent writer for this to be really meaningful to someone don’t underestimate the power of the written word!

Christmas gifts if you have been dating for a few months

When it comes to dating, some people get very stressed out about giving gifts. Either they want to go all out or, on the other hand, they don’t want to seem too intense. If you are the first, I suggest you take a look at the list above for those who are just starting dating. But if you are somewhere in between and have been dating for almost a year, here are some helpful suggestions:

  1. Games: Buying a board game from a toy store or Amazon can spark a conversation or make you have a fun time without having to engage in intense conversation. You can even play through Zoom!
  2. Personalized gifts: Another thoughtful idea is a personalized gift.  You can always buy an item and then take it to the mall to personalize it. Even Airpods are customizable. You can add a small note or message inside if it’s a book or paper item.
  1. Electronic Gifts: Technology is so big right now, and technology gifts are always a hit. A Bluetooth speakerphone, for example, is super useful and reasonably priced. The positive side of electronics is that they make our lives easier and are always handy. On the other hand, sometimes they can be expensive.
  2. Homemade Gifts: If you’re stretching your salary, homemade gifts are a good option. You can try filling a jar with some handwritten thank-you notes or cooking your favorite dessert if you have a chance to get together.

Christmas gifts for engaged couples

For those of you who are committed and looking for a little more personal or meaningful gift, here are some fun ideas:

  1. Clothing: I think clothing is a very personal thing because you have to know someone well to know their size/clothing taste! And there is no better time than during your engagement.
  2. Subscription or service: Why not try a book club subscription, Netflix, or a home chef kit to cook your own meals? It’s the best way to start living together.

Gifts for couples living together

Last but not least, some additional ideas for married couples.

Now that you are married, gift-giving looks a little different since you’ve already shared so much. But it is still essential to express love and appreciation for your partner, whether it is a small gift or something really special. Here are some fun ideas we’ve tried along the way:

  1. Gifts for cuddling: I saved this selection for couples who live together or are married because I believe that cultivating intimacy is an important part of being in a long-term relationship, whether you have signed a paper or not. Think about giving your partner some massage items and giving them a massage at home. Or set the perfect bath as a way of saying I love you. You can also be a little more naughty and give away some sex toy that involves two. Also, be sure to add a good book or two about sex to that Christmas stocking.
  1. Expensive gifts: One thing couples really want or need is to invest in expensive gifts for both of them. If in the past you saved up to buy a TV, go on vacation, or spend the night in a hotel to break the routine. Today, no matter what you decide, it’s important that you decide together and stay tuned to welcome 2021.

Anyway, any gift on the list is permeable to any type of relationship. Check which one connects with your partner and try to forget a little about this apocalyptic year.

Enjoy with your loved one this holiday season, and happy shopping! Merry Christmas to all!
