Is it really summertime if you don’t have a dope playlist serving as your soundtrack for all the fun you’ll have?! We think not! All summers past are linked to specific songs that you danced, partied, and sang along to, and this one shouldn’t be any different. These are the songs you’ll remember years, even decades from now, when you think of those old summers.
So, we took a look at the music charts and found the top songs from Latinx artists and made the playlist you need to listen to this season. With each song, we included the music video, so you can get the summer fun started right now.
“Yonaguni,” Bad Bunny
Bad Bunny’s love can take him all the way to “Yonaguni,” Japan, in his new chart-topping jam, “Yonaguni.” It’s a chill yet danceable song that’s perfect for listening to at a fun barbecue or while lying on the beach.
“Pareja del Año,” Sebastian Yatra X Myke Towers
Sebastian Yatra and Myke Towers bring us another summer love song for the masses. In “Pareja del Año, Yatra and Towers speak of a love they miss and cannot have. If only they were together, they would be the couple of the year.
“Telepatía,” Kali Uchis
Kali Uchis’ hit “Telepatía” sounds dreamy, chill, and totally perfect for poolside lounging. Like many other popular Latin songs of the moment (and of all time, if you think about it), love is the central theme. Specifically about loving someone from a distance, with telepathy. Added bonus? The song is bilingual!
“La Noche de Anoche,” Bad Bunny and Rosalia
It’s safe to say that any Bad Bunny or Rosalia song can serve as a great summer jam. But “La Noche de Anoche,” although released months ago, is a certain summer 2021 staple. The song is a back and forth remembrance of a romantic night and what it could mean. It’s apparent we love a song about the “what ifs” of love!
“Qué Más Pues?” J Balvin and Maria Becerra
In a more uptempo jam called “Qué Más Pues,” J Balvin is back around, asking for Maria Becerra. And she’s not having it. It’s the summer anthem for women who aren’t waiting around for guys to make up their minds.
“Miénteme,” TINI X Maria Becerra
Another Maria Becerra song to turn up when the temperatures go up is “Miénteme,” with TINI. It’s a song for those so blinded by a guy that they don’t care what he tells them, including lies. It’s a bouncy, catchy tune that would be great included on a summertime party playlist.
“Todo de Ti,” Rauw Alejandro
In the sea of good songs that sometimes all sound the same, Rauw Alejandro’s “Todo de Ti” is a summer-perfect breath of fresh air. The jam has a synthwave/disco style that you’ll instantly want to move to. Added bonus? The vintage-style roller disco party video, complete with a dance-off and cameo by a tracksuit and Kangol wearing Shaquille O’Neal.
“Fiel Remix,” Wisin, Jhay Cortez, Anuel ft. Myke Towers, Los Legendarios
A song can be great, but we are always here for the cool remixes that follow. “Fiel Remix” gets together a slew of reggaeton talent–Wisin, Anuel AA, Jhay Cortez, and Myke Towers, alongside producers Los Legendarios–to create a summer jam about fidelity to a badass woman. The original version of “Fiel” went viral on TikTok, and we’re sure the remix will too.
“Canción Bonita,” Carlos Vives & Ricky Martin
Many wonderful summer memories have been made using Carlos Vives’ and Ricky Martin’s music as a soundtrack. While you definitely should, you don’t have to go back in time to get a great track from the duo. They did us the favor of dropping “Canción Bonita” in April, a joyous, wholesome, and sunshiney song that just makes you happy (especially happy to be Latinx).
“El Makinon,” Karol G & Mariah Angeliq
You know those songs that you rock with your BFFs in the car, and the volume turned all the way up? Karol G and Mariah Angeliq’s “El Makinon” is such a jam. It’s about rolling around the city in a big ass car, doing what you want, and not depending on any guy to fill up your schedule or your wallet.
“Dákiti,” Bad Bunny & Jhay Cortez
Just because it came out last year doesn’t mean you shouldn’t add Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez’s “Dákiti” to your Summer 2021 playlist. With surf, sand, jet skis, and beach dancing, just watching its music video lets you know it’s time for the new season. Be sure to check out the remixes for “Dákiti,” including the David Guetta one, and this one featuring Snow tha Product.
“La Mama de la Mama,” El Alfa “El Jefe” x CJ x El Cherry Scom
When you need a high-energy, get-up-and-dance song this summer, press play on “La Mama de la Mama,” by El Alfa, CJ, and El Cherry Scom, and produced by Chael Produciendo. It’s impossible to sit still when this song comes on, so it’s an essential addition to a playlist where you want everyone to dance and have fun.
