Afro-Latina superheroine “La Borinqueña” will be coming off the pages in action figure form thanks to a collaboration with Boss Fight Studio, a small action figure company.

Last week, the Massachusetts-based company revealed the first images of “La Borinqueña”’s action figure.

Known for having extensive experience in the toy industry, Boss Fight Studio said the female power of La Borinqueña “seemed like a natural fit” for the action figure creators.

“Being able to translate these super-powerful characters into articulated figures is a dream,” says Erik Arana, Partner and Art Director at Boss Fight Studio.

Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, creator of “La Borinqueña,” also celebrated the collaboration in a press release.

“La Borinqueña and my other characters are celebrated by fans internationally for our stories, activism, and philanthropy […] I wanted to find a partner that would help bring them to life in incredibly designed action figures,” Miranda-Rodriguez said. “Boss Fight Studio was the ideal partner with their innovative approach to articulated figures. The designs look like they jumped off the page of our comics and came to life. Collectors and children will rejoice in creating their own adventures with this new line whether they’re in Puerto Rico or Brooklyn, NY!”

Starting with 1:12 scale figures, the initially announced characters include La Borinqueña, Luz, Oro El Coqui Dorado, and La Gárgola, images of which have already been released. Boss Fight Studio assured that we would know more details about the toy line during the month of March.
