The 64th Annual Grammy Awards are rescheduled to a new date, being moved to Sin City from Los Angeles. Yup, the awards will now take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 3, 2022.

“We are excited to take the Grammys to Las Vegas for the very first time and to put on a world-class show. From the moment we announced the postponement of the original show date, we have been inundated with heartfelt messages of support and solidarity from the artist community. We are humbled by their generosity and grateful for their unwavering commitment to the Grammy Awards and the Academy’s mission,” Harvey Mason Jr., the CEO of the Academy, stated.

In anticipation of the Grammys and our talented Latinx nominees, we have compiled the Grammy Awards list highlighting our favorites in three of the usually televised categories — in case you missed the nominations. We are so ready for the eclectic fashion and see who will take home the prestigious award this year!

Best Latin Pop Album

The nominations for “Best Latin Pop Album” include: “Vértigo” by Pablo Alborán, “Mis Amores” by Paula Arenas, “Hecho A La Antigua” by Ricardo Arjona, “Mis Manos” by Camilo, “Mendó” by Alex Cuba, and “Revelación” by Selena Gomez.

Our go-to choice is “Revelación” by Selena Gomez. The singer, producer, and actress has gone through a lot! This album embodies her connecting to her Spanish-language roots and allowed her to explore more Latinx acts like producer Tainy on six out of seven tracks and artists like Rauw Alejandro on “Baila Conmigo,” and Myke Towers on “Dámelo To’.”

Best Música Urbana Album

The nominations for “Best Música Urbana Album” include: “Afrodisíaco” by Rauw Alejandro, “El Último Tour Del Mundo” by Bad Bunny, Jose by J. Balvin, “KG0516” by Karol G, and “Sin Miedo (Del Amor Y Otros Demonios)” by Kali Uchis.

Our choice for this category is a tie between “La Bichota” Karol G and Kali Uchis. Both proud Colombian artists took 2021 by surprise with topping hits from each album, respectively. From Karol G’s hit “Tusa” featuring Nicki Minaj to Kali Uchis’ “telepatía,” the two were constantly on airwaves and deserved the recognition.

Best Regional Mexican Music Album (Including Tejano)

The nominations for “Best Regional Mexican Music Album (Including Tejano)” include: “Antología De La Música Ranchera, Vol. 2” by Aida Cuevas, “A Mis 80” by Vicente Fernandez, “Seis” by Mon Laferte, “Un Canto Por México, Vol. II” by Natalia Lafourcade, “Ayayay! (Súper Deluxe)” by Christian Nodal.

Our choice here is “Seis” by Mon Laferte. It is an album inspired by being a Chilean immigrant in Mexico, where she interprets and pays tribute to Regional Mexican in her own way. Mon Laferte is known for her evolving artistry, especially in the way that she tests her vocals in different genres.

Good luck to all the nominees!
