Bad Bunny finally wrapped up his World’s Hottest Tour in Mexico City this weekend. On December 9 and December 10, Benito performed his last two dates of his Un Verano Sin Ti era at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City – but it didn’t happen without noteworthy ticket drama.

What happened at El Conejo Malo’s Mexico City concerts

On December 9, fan-goers complained about issues with Ticketmaster. Apparently, hundreds of fans weren’t able to access the stadium due to fake tickets.

Due to the massive outrage, Ticketmaster Mexico issued the following statement on December 9.

“Regarding today’s events at the gates of the Estadio Azteca, Ticketmaster informs: The inconveniences at the gates were the result of the presentation of an unprecedented number of counterfeit tickets, which caused an unusually large number of people and an intermittent operation of our system. This generated confusion and complicated entry to the stadium, with the unfortunate consequence that some legitimate tickets were denied entry.”

They also noted that fans could ask for refunds and that they will work to bring a solution to those affected. They ended their statement with an apology.

What’s going on with Ticketmaster?

This comes as no surprise if you’ve been following Ticketmaster’s controversy lately. Though the Taylor Swift vs. Ticketmaster dilemma happened outside of Mexico, it’s another piece of evidence that Ticketmaster needs to do better.

Even one of BELatina News’ freelance writers, Fernanda Leon, has experienced problems with Ticketmaster in Mexico lately. “Ticketmaster Mexico makes it too freaking hard to get your own freaking tickets. Tickets that you paid for,” she told us about her experience for another recent concert.

“You have to present the card you used to pay for the tickets. If you don’t have it, you can change it, but they’ll charge you. If you don’t pick up your tickets the day they tell you, you’ll be at risk to lose them. It’s such a pain and I always think twice before getting tickets to a concert in Mexico through them.”

Sounds like a headache!
