As we make our way through the new year, there are certainly a lot of unknowns. Will there be another Covid-19 variant? When will the world return to normal? What does normal even look like anymore? One thing that’s also for sure is we need something to look forward to.
Enter the return of various summits and conferences coast to coast, undoubtedly a cause for celebration. From self-help summits to tech conferences and everything in between, these meetings of the minds are opportunities to learn and grow as we adjust to the reality we’re faced with and prepare for a new normal in America.
For many of us, it’s been a minute since we gathered in a public setting. Hence, the opportunity to interact with other human beings is equally intimidating and exciting — to say we have mixed emotions is an understatement.
For their part, event organizers are also mixed on their decisions to offer large-scale events in person versus virtually or a hybrid model. This month CES, a mega tech conference with more than 2,000 exhibitors, took place in Las Vegas. There were over 40,000 attendees at a combination of indoor and outdoor events and a digital venue.
Other in-person events such as the Grammy’s, the Sundance Film Festival, and the World Economic Forum either postponed or canceled their in-person attendance in light of the Omicron variant and rising Covid cases across the world.
Needless to say, there is mixed messaging out there, and the medical guidance changes daily in terms of what is safe, what is recommended, and what precautions people need to take before attending in-person, large-scale events. But things certainly seem to be moving in the right direction.
For anyone hungry for face-to-face interaction and a chance to learn, collaborate, be inspired, and be engaged in the presence of other humans, the fact that in-person summits and conferences are happening in 2022 is excellent news. The fact that virtual options and online meetings are also available is even better news.
Here are six summits and conferences for Latinas to look forward to this year. The list is by no means all-encompassing, but it’s a glimpse at some of the opportunities to be inspired in 2022. Just remember that news gets updated moment to moment, and plans often change, so be sure to stay on top of conference alerts and safety requirements for any events you plan to attend or tune into virtually.
