Power restored to 80% of the island of Puerto Rico

The two entities in charge of supplying electric service to 1.5 million customers in Puerto Rico said their crews have been working intensively since Wednesday night, when a circuit breaker at the Costa Sur generation plant, one of the island’s four main power plants, caught fire and caused the shutdown of the remaining power plants. As of Saturday morning, power had been restored to at least 1.3 million customers, according to Luma Energy, the private U.S.-Canadian company that took over power transmission and distribution in Puerto Rico last year. As approximately 87% of customers gained access to electricity, Luma Energy also urged consumers to limit their power usage in order to avoid surges in power demand that could hinder the ongoing restoration process at some major power plants.

Gloria Calderón Kellett talks about the second season of ‘With Love’

“With Love” creator and showrunner Gloria Calderon Kellett said during Deadline’s Contenders TV panel last weekend that the spirit of diversity and representation that drives the romantic dramedy’s interpersonal, inter-family, and intergenerational love stories was needed and overdue.

“Turns out it wasn’t that hard.” Calderón Kellett said. “This series really came out of the pandemic and feeling sad and missing family, missing big gatherings, and my Instagram was a barrage of violence against black and brown and queer nation people. And so I wanted to give something a salve to these communities specifically, where we could see ourselves trauma-free, experiencing love and joy and thriving.”

Becky G talks about her body image experience

During an interview for It Figures — Yahoo Life’s body image series on body confidence, body neutrality, and self-love — the Mexican-American star opened up about the pressure she feels about her appearance.

“I went through this transition of young girl to young woman in front of the whole world,” she tells Yahoo Life. “You’re exposed all the time — what you look like, how you speak, how you wear something. It definitely affected me, and it impacted how I viewed my own self.”
