The silence between albums has not weakened her grip on reinvention. Belinda, who has long moved between genres without allowing anyone to define her, confirmed that her upcoming album Indómita will feature collaborations of a kind she has not attempted before. Among them, and possibly the most unexpected, is a song co-written and performed with Jared Leto from the rock band, Thirty Seconds to Mars. The announcement came directly from the artist herself during a press conference, where she made it clear this project is shaped by deliberate choices rather than convenience or spectacle.

Jared Leto Meets Regional Influence Without Losing His Ground

The track, titled Never Not Love You, will appear on Indómita and marks Jared Leto’s debut within the sonic framework of regional Mexican music. Yet, the decision to keep his vocals in English was intentional. Belinda explained her reasoning without hesitation. “It’s an experiment that has a regional touch, but without him losing his essence,” she said, describing a balance between genre and identity that neither artist was willing to compromise.

Though Leto initially hoped to perform in Spanish, Belinda stood firm. She had no interest in softening his style to meet expectations tied to language. The song, she explained, is entirely about love but is not directed toward anyone in particular. That restraint in intention, paired with emotional vulnerability in sound, appears central to the upcoming album’s vision.

Mutual Respect Shapes a Collaboration Few Saw Coming

According to Belinda, the track came together through shared authorship. She made it clear she had no desire to record a song that didn’t speak to her directly. “When we finished recording, he told me: ‘Beli, I admire you so much.’”

Leto’s admiration for Belinda and for Mexico, repeated often in their creative exchanges, seemed to shape the energy around the project as much as the music itself. There was no attempt to force resonance. It appeared organically, according to her account, through mutual recognition.

Indómita Arrives as a Quiet Rebellion

Indómita is set to be released on June 5, assuming no delays. The album’s title alone suggests Belinda has little interest in tempering herself or settling into any existing mold. Her history of bending genre has not been about invention for its own sake but about control. She has walked away from formulas. She has rarely circled back.

Whether the audience will respond to Leto’s contribution with the same openness that Belinda brought into the studio remains to be seen. But the terms of the album are hers. And that has always been the point.
