“CULTURE CAPITAL” is a three-part docuseries that highlights ten influential multicultural entrepreneurs shaping the future of business. The series examines the challenges and accomplishments involved in building successful enterprises in today’s market. It offers a comprehensive view of the entrepreneurial journey and emphasizes the innovative strategies that transform ideas into significant achievements.

Meet the Pioneers of ‘CULTURE CAPITAL’

Felecia Hatcher is the CEO of Black Ambition Prize, a non-profit founded by Pharrell Williams. The organization invests in high-growth startups led by Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs. Felicia’s expertise in marketing, gained through her roles at Nintendo, Sony, and Google, has been instrumental in supporting over 100 entrepreneurs who have collectively raised more than $95 million. Her influence extends to major corporations and has earned her recognition in Forbes and The Wall Street Journal. 

William Tyrone Toms co-founded REC Philly, a social club model that supports creative individuals. Under his leadership, REC Philly has evolved from a small warehouse in North Philadelphia to an eight-figure, multi-city enterprise. The organization has distributed over $2 million to local creatives and was featured on the 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30 List. REC Philly’s expansion plans include a new location in Miami by 2025. 

Chekesha Kidd is the Founder and CEO of Kinumi, a tech-driven concierge service for aging adults. Kinumi offers resources and support for caregivers, blending Chekesha’s extensive experience as a healthcare executive and investment banker. Her background includes senior roles at Delta Dental and The Hartford and managing over $5 billion in transactions. 

Bertony Faustin established Abbey Creek Vineyard, known as The Crick, which stands out as the only hip-hop winery. As the first recorded Black winemaker in Oregon, Bertony’s venture challenges industry norms and promotes diversity and community through wine. 

Latoya Peterson is the Co-Founder and Chief Experience Officer of Glow Up Games, a studio focused on creating games that center on Black and brown joy. Her flagship game, “Insecure: The Come Up Game,” is based on the hit HBO show “Insecure.” Latoya’s background in journalism and advocacy for race representation in media paved the way for her entry into the gaming industry. 

Grace Hsia founded Warmilu, a company that manufactures non-electric warming technology. Inspired by her own experience as a preterm baby, Grace’s company produces reusable warming devices that are crucial for various applications. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. 

Melinda Archuleta is the founder of Bar Carlo, a Mexican-American restaurant in Portland. Her experiences growing up in Southern California and her desire to connect with her cultural roots inspired her to create a vibrant dining space that bridges the gap between high-end and casual Mexican cuisine. 

David Wong created FRIEDA, a social enterprise that fosters multigenerational communities. Originally from Tahiti, David’s global journey led him to create FRIEDA, an initiative focused on redefining aging and enhancing social connections through culinary and cultural experiences. 

Cody Coleman is the Co-Founder and CEO of Coactive AI, an analytics platform for visual content. With a PhD from Stanford and a background in AI and machine learning, Cody’s work in structuring unstructured data is revolutionizing how enterprises manage visual content. 

Ashley M. Williams is the founder of RIZZARR, a marketing technology platform that elevates content creators and aligns brand purposes with authentic storytelling. Her background as a journalist and her experience with NBC and USA Today inspired her to create RIZZARR, which bridges the gap between creators and purpose-driven brands. 

“Culture Capital” shines a light on the entrepreneurial brilliance within historically marginalized communities, celebrating not just individual achievements but the collective drive for innovation and impact. The series offers a powerful narrative of perseverance and success. In turn, it highlights how these entrepreneurs are reshaping industries and making significant contributions to their fields. By showcasing these stories, “Culture Capital” inspires viewers to recognize and support the transformative potential within their own communities.
