According to the Construction Employers Association, over 27 percent of construction workers are Latinos. This may or may not be one of the reasons why so many Latino households resonated with the children’s show, “Bob the Builder.” In a way, it allowed us to see the impact of a construction worker and how they are so important to people’s lives.

“Bob the Builder” is embedded in many of our memories. He has also become a part of the newer generation – and it’s sweet to see how influential he continues to be. He let everyone know that when there’s a will, there’s a way. After all, who doesn’t remember the catchy song: “Can he fix it? Yes, he can!” However, this time around he’s getting some help from the famous Nuyorican, JLo.

After all the fixing he’s done, “Bob the Builder” is now gearing up for his silver screen debut. Best of all, the movie will take place in Puerto Rico! Mattel Films is set to bring the beloved construction worker to life in a brand-new animated feature, and there’s a star-studded team behind the scenes.

What Are Jennifer Lopez and Anthony Ramos’ Roles in ‘Bob the Builder’?

Jennifer Lopez is donning her producer hat for “Bob the Builder,” while the charismatic Anthony Ramos, known for his role in “In the Heights,” will lend his voice to the character. It’s a fresh take on the classic children’s series, following Bob, or Roberto, as he embarks on a construction mission in Puerto Rico. The film promises to uncover island-centric issues, exploring the essence of building while celebrating the rich culture of La Isla del Encanto.

Robbie Brenner, the president of Mattel Films, expressed excitement about the collaboration, tells Variety, “Pairing Anthony and Felipe’s genius vision for the story will capture this beloved character in a manner that audiences who grew up with Bob will recognize, and all-new audiences will enjoy.”

Ramos, on the other hand, shares, “A movie about friends working together, a celebration of a beautiful home they share, and how love can help to conquer any obstacle in your way. Can we fix it? Yes, we can!”

Ramos will also take on a producing role alongside Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico of ShadowMachine. Jennifer Lopez’s production company, Nuyorican Productions, will be in the mix with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina as producers.

Following the major success of Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” which grossed $1.4 billion globally and earned eight Oscar nominations, Mattel Films is poised to make “Bob the Builder” another memorable theatrical experience.

Get ready to fix, build, and conquer with Bob aka Roberto on the big screen!
