6Find your Move

So you’ve decided that 2019 will be the year you stop procrastinating on all your exercise goals  — there’s only one dilemma: you kind of hate working out. We feel you.

Rather than spend endless hours on a boring treadmill, try swapping out monotonous activities for ones that actually bring you joy. From low impact to high intensity — here are a few workouts to help melt your stress away and nourish both your body and mind.

5Zumba

There’s nothing more exhilarating than getting lost in the joy of the moment, and Zumba does exactly that. The focus is on moving your body to the music; not counting how many calories you’ve burned. It’s an exercise routine that offers an array of benefits like body-positivity and an inclusive and welcoming community.

As Fitness Maven, Lauren Drinkhall, quoted Nicholas Sparks to her recent class “The most ordinary things can become extraordinary simply by doing them with the right people” “Zumba is for everybody. Period. As simple as that. You come to class, you enjoy yourself, and you let the music do the rest.”

4Rollerblading or Rollerskating(Even Beyonce Skates scroll down)

Few things compare to the childhood nostalgia of tying up your laces and taking off down the street. Aside from its aerobic and muscle endurance benefits (which pushes your body just a little harder than cycling), rollerblading is just plain old fun.

Beyonce gets her skate on! She was recently see at Janelle Monae’s Skate Party. And if it’s been years since you last tried on a pair of skates, take it slowly — take a stroll down memory lane while also improving your overall fitness level.

3Belly Dancing

More than just a way to trim off belly fat, it’s a low impact form of exercise that’s also great for alleviating stress. The swaying, circular movements are likened to a state of dance-meditation which helps with mental relaxation.

It’s also excellent for boosting your self-esteem as it heightens body-awareness. In fact, some researchers have found that belly dancing is an “embodying activity that gives women a sense of ownership of their bodies.”

2Cardio Kickboxing

Looking for a fun exercise that’s both empowering and a little more hardcore? We’ve got just the thing. Cardio kickboxing is a fast-paced exercise that combines upbeat music with traditional kickboxing moves.

But no worries — it’s a noncontact workout, which means that all punches and kicks are thrown into the air or onto pads.

It’s also the perfect high intensity exercise if you’re easily bored with stationary equipment. More than anything, it’ll help you vent all of those pesky work frustrations.

1Funny Yoga

Laughter is great exercise too. Fun to be silly, find you grove and move.
