Here Are Our Favorite Latinas Nominated for the 2022 Latin Grammys belatina latine

This year’s Latin Grammy nominations are officially unveiled! With no surprise, Bad Bunny led with a total of ten nominations – after all, his album Un Verano Sin Ti still remains a chart-topper. Besides Benito’s reign, other artists received multiple noms including the Mexican songwriter Edgar Barrera with nine, Rauw Alejandro and Rosalía with eight each, and Christina Aguilera with seven. The 23rd annual award show will take place at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 17.

But what Latinas made the cut this year? Let’s highlight some of our favorite Latina powerhouses nominated this year! Good luck to all the nominees!

Christina Aguilera

Xtina is back and ready to conquer the award show’s red carpet. She’s currently on tour with her latest Spanish-language album Aguilera, an album composed of her two previous EPs La Fuerza and La Tormenta. La Fuerza debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart, bringing the “Lady Marmalade” singer back in tune with her Latine roots. Overall, Aguilera received a total of seven nominations, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Pa Mis Muchachas.”

Anitta

Anitta’s trilingual music abilities only get better. With her Versions of Me album release earlier this year, she garnered two Latin Grammy nominations. Her steamy and catchy song “Envolver” was nominated for Record of the Year, and Best Reggaeton Performance.

Karol G

“Provenza” is one of this year’s massive and historic hits – and the Latin Grammys was finally spot on with this nomination. The track is nominated for Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. That’s not all though. Her collaboration “MAMIII” with Becky G was also recognized this year. The collaboration is up for Best Urban Song.

Becky G

Talking about Becky G – “MAMIII” wasn’t the only collaboration she’s nominated for this year. Her collaboration with Christina Aguilera on “Pa Mis Muchachas” put her on the map in three other categories. Becky’s up for a total of four awards this year. Too bad her album Esquemas wasn’t nominated pero we’re glad her talent was noticed!

Yahritza y Su Esencia

Yahritza’s currently one of the young Latina faces in the norteño scene. The family trio’s debut album Obsessed accumulated many media praises – Rolling Stone even said that the singer’s voice was “strong enough to cause a seismic quake throughout the industry.” And it appears it is – the newcomers are up for two Latin Grammy nominations: Best New Artist, and Best Norteño Album.

Who are you excited to see win this year? The full list of this year’s nominees is up on their official website. The awards will air live on Univision at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central) on November 17.
