Maluma, Hot Wheels and Colombian casual wear brand QUEST came together on a limited-edition collection that brings music, fashion and automotive culture into a single project rooted in Colombian identity. The collaboration dropped on October 16th exclusively in Colombia through QUEST and 25 selected stores across the country, translating Maluma’s current creative era and the visual legacy of Hot Wheels into a line of hoodies and T-shirts built for the way people actually dress right now. The project sits within Challenge Accepted, Hot Wheels’ global platform celebrating people who take risks and pursue their passions without apology, and Maluma is one of the central figures bringing that concept to life.

QUEST was selected as the Colombian brand to develop the collection, a choice that makes sense given the brand’s three-decade history of building collaborations with figures and organizations across sports, entertainment and design. Founded in 1995, the brand has consistently used partnership projects as a way to reinterpret its identity through different cultural worlds rather than treating collaboration as a branding exercise, and this one follows that same logic with a lot more noise around it.

The Two Lines and What They Are Actually About

The collection is divided into two distinct lines that each pull from a different source of inspiration. The Maluma Edition draws from the artist’s current aesthetic, with prints across hoodies and T-shirts that pay tribute to “Loco x Volver,” his latest album, and to Medellín, the city he has always kept at the center of his public identity regardless of how international his profile has become. The second line, Hot Wheels x QUEST, taps into the racing and vintage DNA that has made Hot Wheels a cultural reference across generations, with graphics that evoke the brand’s history on the track in a way that reads as nostalgic without feeling dated.

Every piece in the collection is made in 100% cotton, with structured cuts, urban fits and premium finishes that give the line a contemporary character rather than the looser, more casual feel that often defines artist merchandise. Nicolás Giraldo, Business Brand Manager at NCS Brands, the business group to which QUEST belongs, said the collaboration was designed to reach an audience that connects with Maluma as a figure deeply tied to Colombian culture while also experiencing Hot Wheels through the nostalgia and meaning the brand has accumulated across different stages of their lives. He described the collection as a way of bringing both of those worlds into the present through pieces designed for the lifestyle of that audience right now.

Colombia at the Center of All Three Brands

The fact that this collaboration exists at all says something about how Maluma has positioned himself culturally over the past several years, using his platform for projects that keep Medellín and Colombian identity visible within his creative output. “Loco x Volver,” the album that anchors the Maluma Edition of the collection, was itself framed as a return to his roots, and the decision to build a fashion collaboration around that concept with a Colombian brand rather than an international one reinforces what the album was already saying about where he comes from and why it matters to him.

For QUEST, the collaboration represents a chance to reach audiences who may know the brand through its history in Colombian retail but who now encounter it through two globally recognized names that carry very different but equally powerful associations. Hot Wheels connects through childhood and the kind of visual nostalgia that cuts across age groups, while Maluma connects through a current cultural moment that has placed Colombian music and identity at the center of a global conversation. QUEST sits at the intersection of both, which is exactly where a 30-year-old Colombian brand with serious design credentials should want to be.

It Is Limited Edition and It Is Already Out There

The Maluma x Hot Wheels x QUEST collection is available now as a limited edition, exclusively in Colombia, through QUEST and at 25 selected stores across the country. Given that the collection is tied to a specific moment in Maluma’s creative era and produced in limited quantities, availability is not guaranteed to last, so anyone in Colombia who has been watching this one should not wait around on it.
