What better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than with a new single from Monsieur Periné?
The Colombian stars have released the new single “Nada,” accompanied by an official video directed by Naty Agudelo Campillo and the band’s vocalist Catalina Garcia. This is the second single to be released by the Colombian band in the lead-up to their new album.
“Nada” was written amid a painful breakup. “Despite the heartache, it was clear to me that there was no turning back,” Catalina explained in a press release. “It was time to say farewell. Love is like a plant, it can wilt and die, but if you weed out what’s blocking its splendor, it can once again bloom like the spring from within. The strength of love dwells inside of you, and loving yourself is the first step.”
“Nada” follows the recent single “Volverte A Ver.” The two tracks preview the band’s upcoming project, produced by Rafa Sardina (Stevie Wonder, Calle 13).
Although the new album will be the group’s first production in four years, Monsieur Periné has been making waves on social media with their new music.
A surprising viral story on TikTok with the band’s 2015 hit “Nuestra Canción” reached No. 1 on the TikTok chart in the U.S. and went viral worldwide with 2 million uses and 2 billion views.
The song reached No. 1 on Spotify Global’s viral chart and broke into 60 Spotify country viral charts, including No. 1 from the U.S. and France to Australia and Malaysia.
Monsieur Perine’s 2018 album was the GRAMMY-nominated release ‘Encanto Tropical.’ The album included “Bailar Contigo,” with over 120 million total streams. Since the album’s release, the band has performed in 15 countries, with sold-out shows at legendary venues such as New York’s Sony Hall and major festivals from Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo to Lollapalooza Chile and Rock in Rio.
We can safely say that their new album is one of the most anticipated of the year.
