It’s been nearly two years since the official announcement of the split between Shakira and Gerard Piqué, after more than 12 years together and raising two children: Milan and Sasha. The singer poured out all the pain this breakup caused her in several of her songs, such as “Acróstico” and “Music Sessions #53,” just to name a couple.

In an infamous statement, the former couple communicated to their followers: “We regret to confirm that we have separated. For the sake of our children, who are our top priority, we request respect for our privacy. Thank you for your understanding.” With that, each went their separate ways, the Barranquillera in Miami with their two little ones, while the Spaniard found a new love interest in Clara Chía. What Shakira Is Saying

Much calmer now, on the verge of releasing a new album to her fans and having overcome the sadness of the split, the Colombian opened up about those episodes that marked her separation from the Spanish footballer and what happened afterward. According to Shakira, on her album “Las mujeres ya no lloran” (Women Don’t Cry Anymore), there’s a song more dedicated to Piqué. However, what caught attention was the particular nickname she uses to refer to her ex.

The Colombian singer’s response came during her interview with t and ahead of her release on March 22nd: “About Voldemort? The one who cannot be named?,” the artist mentioned with a laugh before stating that there’s only one musical piece against Milan and Sasha’s father, and it’s titled “Última” (Last). “I hope it’s the last song I write about this and him,” the artist stated. After this, with a mischievous smile on her face, the Colombian assured that her response stemmed from the cheeky attitude of the interview organizers or simply “a cosmic joke” against Piqué, acknowledging that it felt good to say it that way.

The artist gave an interview to The Times where she shared various insights into her separation from Gerard Piqué. However, during the conversation with the media outlet, they delved into the opinion her children have about the songs she has dedicated to their dad, as they have been harshly criticized by the Spanish press.

How the Children Reacted

According to the Colombian: “They know that there is only one way to live and it is by accepting pain, and each of us has different ways of doing it.” But this wasn’t the only thing Shak, as she’s known to her fans, said, as she also dared to talk about the talent her son Milan possesses, being the protagonist in composing two songs for the album.

“When his father and I were going through this separation process, Milan wrote two incredible songs, the kind that make you cry,” revealed Shakira. She also confirmed what had been speculated for some time, that this new production would be the mechanism through which she would exorcise all those demons she carried from the separation and through which she would cathartically address the suffering caused by the end of her relationship with Piqué and the changes brought to her life, and that of her children, by the infidelity of the former footballer.

“By writing each song, I rebuilt myself. By singing them, my tears turned into diamonds, and my vulnerability into resilience,” warned Shakira.

The Significance of Shakira Calling Piqué Voldemort

Shakira’s playful jab at her ex, referring to him as “Voldemort,” conjured an air of mystique around their breakup narrative. In the wizarding world of Harry Potter, Voldemort, often called “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named,” was the infamous dark wizard whose name evoked fear and dread. By likening her ex to this iconic villain, Shakira cleverly portrayed the depth of her emotions and the magnitude of their split.

In J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, Voldemort’s name is synonymous with power, manipulation, and destruction. Just as Voldemort left a trail of chaos in his wake, Shakira’s reference implies a similar impact of her ex on her life. It adds a layer of intrigue and symbolism to her narrative, inviting fans to interpret the dynamics of their relationship through the lens of literature.

Shakira’s forthcoming song, “Última,” promises to be the ultimate finale to her musical saga with Piqué, reminiscent of Harry Potter’s final confrontation with Voldemort. Just as Harry’s triumph over Voldemort marked the end of an era, Shakira’s musical closure signifies the end of a chapter in her life. And much like the tears shed by fans over the wizarding world’s epic finale, Shakira’s heartfelt melodies are bound to stir emotions and resonate with listeners.
