Now, as we get started for this new week, let’s look at what happened during the last few days. After all, it’s important to stay in the know.

First Latina U.S. Senator was re-elected 

Nevada’s Catherine Cortez Masto, who is celebrated for being the first Latina U.S. Senator, was re-elected to the U.S. Senate over the weekend. Her re-election secured the Democrats’ control of the Senate for the next two years.  It is now speculated that Democrats will get the House as well. Senator Cortez Masto was first elected in 2016. The former prosecutor was also the first woman ever elected to represent Nevada.

Ivy Queen Honors Rocio Durcal in Pianist’s New Album

The reggaeton artist Ivy Queen recently confirmed that she is part of pianist Arthur Hanlon’s newest collection, “Piano y Mujer” volume 2. Within it, she performs music once popularized by the late Rocio Durcal. 

Ivy Queen sings “Ya te olvidé,” one of her favorite of Durcal’s songs.  She shared a clip on her social media. 

The artist is part of 25 women singers selected by Hanlon for his new album. The album will be released on November 25. 

Former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres Chosen to Narrate Princess Diana Exhibition 

The former Miss Universe, Dayanara Torres, is near a crown again. This time around she’s a key figure in keeping the late Princess Diana’s legacy alive. 

In a social media post, the Puertorican multi-hyphenated woman expressed her joy to be the narrator for Puerto Rico’s Princess Diana Accredited Access.

This exhibition allows people to embark on a journey through the life of Princess Diana from the perspective of Lady Di’s favorite Royal photographer. He tells over 50 never-before-heard stories of royal life and of the Princess. 

Princess Diana Accredited Access can be enjoyed in select cities. The one in Puerto Rico is hosted in the Mall of San Juan. 

Natti Natasha performs on ‘Mira Quien Baila’

The Dominican urban star, Natti Natasha, took the stage of Univision’s “Mira Quien Baila” to perform her latest single, “Lokita.” It was the reality TV show’s semi-final episode. During her appearance on the famed show, Natti Natasha described all the support she’s getting for her song “Lokita” as a dream. 

Karol G releases new music

La Bichota has been busy lately. From tackling her $trip Love Tour and becoming the highest-grossing U.S. tour by a Latina in history, it’s safe to say Karol G is not stopping soon. In fact, this past weekend she released new music AND the music video for “Cairo,” which was filmed in Cairo, Egypt. The single also features Ovy On The Drums. The song is an evident portrayal of Karol G’s evolution as an artist. Have you watched it yet?
