Spa water, who?! We just got another reason to love the iconic Mexican Jarritos drink. The brand announced a JarriTODOS (Jarritos for Everyone) Artist Grant Contest that will give five lucky creatives a $10,000 grant to help their endeavors. That’s a total of $50,000 dollars across five art and entertainment categories!
Five individuals – from the culinary, visual arts, music, dance, and fashion industries – will have the opportunity to win this grant that is designed to discover and expose emerging talent.
“Jarritos champions all things culture, and we’re committed to celebrating the artists who influence our communities and culture with their work,” Jarritos’ marketing director, Eric Delamare, said in a press statement. “We’re thrilled to launch this new initiative and connect with the next generation of talent across the country.”
So, how can people participate? To start off, creatives must be U.S. residents and ages 18 and older. Artists have from July 11, 2022, to August 6, 2022, to send in a short 2 and a half to 3-minute video essay demonstrating their art (whether it’s in visual art, fashion, dance, food, or music) and sharing why they deserve to win one of the five grand prizes. Easy, right?
In addition to the video submission, those who want to apply must complete a short online form to confirm eligibility and provide their contact information (first and last name, address, email, phone number, age, social media handles, and mailing address.)
Ojo: The submissions must be received by August 6 by 11:59:59 p.m. PST.
After that, fans can vote from August 10, 2022 to August 20, 2022. During this time, the chosen semi-finalists will be shared on the Jarritos website and social media channels to spread the word and encourage other fans to vote for their favorite creative in each category.
Judges will choose finalists beginning on August 23, 2022 to September 2, 2022. The finalists will be judged on talent and creativity (50 percent), self-expression (30 percent), and presentation (20 percent.)
The five judges, who are experts in the professional arts and entertainment, are the Contemporary Art Dealer, Courtney Plummer; the editor of Vogue Mexico/Latin America, Karla Martinez de Salas; the professional dancer/choreographer, JoJo Gomez; the celebrity chef and host of “La Frontera,” Pati Jinich; and the music, entertainment, and cultural marketing consultant, Javier Farfan.
The announcement of the five grand prize winners takes place on September 9, 2022.
