A lot of fun things are going down in Aspen, Colorado this weekend as the Raizado Festival is set to celebrate the Latinx community. From today through Sunday, August 27, this highly anticipated event, hosted by a stellar lineup of Latinx luminaries including Francia Raisa, Jesse Garcia, Judy Reyes, Kate Del Castillo, Mauro Castillo, and Nicholas Gonzalez, promises an unforgettable experience dedicated to the rich culture and power of our beautiful community.

Raizado Festival Continues to Celebrate Our Community

The second annual Raizado Festival is a vibrant tribute to the diversity of Latino/e culture. The festival’s core focuses on five pivotal pillars: education, health, innovation, sustainability, leadership, and arts and culture. Gathering luminaries from various walks of life, Raizado aims to bridge the gap between shared narratives and personal experiences, all while celebrating the essence of Latinx culture.

An Extravaganza of Engaging Experiences

Over the course of four immersive days and nights, festival-goers can anticipate an array of experiences that capture the essence of Latinx culture:

  • Engaging Conversations: Esteemed guests, including Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Representative Elizabeth Velesaco, will grace the stage, bringing their insights to the mission of Raizado—amplifying Latinx contributions and fostering representation.
  • Musical Resonance: From the soul-stirring melodies of Carla Morrison to the iconic Mexican rock ensemble Los Lobos and Sara Curruchich, Raizado will pulsate with the rhythms of Latinx music.
  • Culinary Journeys: Humanitarian and celebrity chef Grace Ramirez, in collaboration with Chef Melissa Tung, will conjure flavors that pay homage to Latin American tradition. Local culinary talents, including Chef Erasmo Casiano, will also contribute their skills to this culinary feast.
  • Sip and Savor: Award-winning bartender and mixologist Lynette Marrero will craft libations that echo the festival’s vibrancy, offering attendees a delightful sensory experience.

A Platform for Meaningful Dialogues

Beyond the celebrations, Raizado serves as a platform for thought-provoking conversations. Panels, thoughtfully curated by Mónica Ramírez, co-founder of The Latinx House, will explore pressing topics such as political leadership, economic security, environmental sustainability, and health equity, shining a light on the journey ahead for the Latinx community.

Above all, Raizado is a testament to the power of community. It underscores the strength in unity, the pride in cultural heritage, and the shared purpose of uplifting one another.
