Gateway Summit Málaga 2026: The Gateway to European Innovation for The World

— Gateway Summit Málaga has established itself as one of Europe’s premier boarding gates for innovation, connecting the entrepreneurship, investment, and corporate capital ecosystem from Spain to the rest of the world —

MIAMI, FL — September 9, 2026 — (NOTICIAS NEWSWIRE) — Following his visit to Miami during eMerge Americas last May, where César Caballero, Coordinator of Gateway Summit, promoted the transatlantic bridge connecting South Florida’s tech hub with Málaga’s innovation center, all eyes are now on the upcoming edition of the summit. The event will take place on October 1 and 2 at the Málaga Cruise Terminal.

In this exclusive interview with Hispanic Target Magazine, César Caballero reveals key details of a summit that aims to do far more than gather technology leaders: its goal is to generate concrete connections between entrepreneurs, investors, corporations, and innovation ecosystems on both sides of the Atlantic.

Nancy Clara: César, back in May you visited Miami during eMerge Americas to build bridges between South Florida’s tech ecosystem and Europe. How was Málaga’s pitch as a rising hub for capital and innovation received by the American market, and what key partnerships are you bringing back from that trip?

César Caballero: The reception was extraordinarily positive. What we noticed in Miami is a massive interest in discovering new innovation hubs outside traditional markets. Málaga sparked tremendous curiosity due to its blend of talent, high quality of life, international connectivity, and a business ecosystem that has matured rapidly in recent years.

During eMerge Americas, we held meetings with venture capital funds, tech corporations, accelerators, and institutions that view Málaga as a natural gateway to the European market. That was precisely our goal: to demonstrate that Gateway Summit is not just an event, but a platform designed to create real connections between both continents.

We are returning with strategic collaboration agreements, new international partners, and, above all, commitments from numerous U.S. and Latin American investors and companies who will join us in Málaga this October to explore joint investment, expansion, and innovation opportunities.

NC: Gateway Summit stands out for its disruptive, airport-inspired concept featuring spaces like the “Pitching Runway” and “Takeoff Talks.” How is the agenda structured for this upcoming October edition, and what are the main thematic priorities?

CC: From the very beginning, we wanted to break away from the traditional conference format. The airport concept reflects our core philosophy: Gateway Summit is a connecting hub where ideas take flight, capital meets high-impact projects, and connections turn into real opportunities.

That is why this edition's agenda balances top-tier content, investment, networking, and immersive experiences. In addition to keynotes and panel discussions, we are featuring formats like the Pitching Runway, where 10 finalist startups will pitch directly to investors, alongside specialized workshops, deal-making meetings, dynamic activities, and an Experience Zone where attendees can engage directly with innovation through live demos and applied technologies.

Thematically, we are focusing on the major tech trends driving the global landscape: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, FinTech, EdTech, HealthTech, SpaceTech, Smart Cities, Connected Mobility, Tokenization, Bitcoin, Real Estate, Tourism, and Impact Investing, among others.

Investment will play a particularly central role. Among our new formats, we are launching an initiative bringing together around 20 investors to build a live, practical guide on how startups are evaluated and how investment decisions are made—sharing criteria and decision-making processes that usually happen behind closed doors.

Ultimately, we want Gateway to empower attendees to do three things: understand current market trends, connect with the leaders driving them, and unlock tangible business opportunities through those connections.

NC: At Hispanic Target, we place great emphasis on leaders who move the needle in the market. What exciting highlights or prominent profiles can we expect from this year's international lineup of speakers and investors?

CC: We are building a highly cross-functional lineup because we want Gateway to be a meeting point for those developing technology, those implementing it, and those deciding where to allocate capital.

We can already announce several key names. For instance, we will feature executives from companies like Mastercard, Renault, and Indra to discuss connected vehicles and the future of mobility; we will cover tokenization and digital assets; and we will hold targeted sessions on how technology is revolutionizing healthcare (with Quirón), education, smart cities, and the space industry (with PLD Space).

Additionally, Metricool will address the practical application of AI and automated workflows, while Markus Gotthard will deliver a keynote on how drones, AI, and energy resilience are transforming global security.

Across various panels, we will also feature representatives from leading firms such as Cisco, Reental, and Bolt, with more announcements coming regularly.

Investment remains one of our primary pillars. We are gathering angel investors, venture capital funds, and family offices who will actively participate across multiple formats throughout the Summit. There will be strong representation from the United States, Latin America, and Europe, reinforcing the transatlantic bridge we are committed to building. Over the coming weeks, we will reveal new speaker additions that will add immense value for all participants.

NC: For companies, investment funds, and founders among our audience in the U.S. and Latin America looking at global expansion: Who is this summit specifically tailored for, and how can they participate in deal-making sessions?

CC: Gateway Summit is specifically engineered to bring together the key pieces that turn innovation into sustainable business: startups and scaleups, global corporations, venture capital funds, angel investors, family offices, institutions, universities, tech hubs, and growth-minded companies seeking new expansion avenues.

For someone traveling from the U.S. or Latin America, Gateway serves as a highly concentrated entry point into the Spanish and broader European ecosystems.

Investors won't just sit and listen to speeches; they can discover high-potential deals via the Pitching Runway, evaluate curated startups, participate in dedicated investment rooms, and arrange targeted one-on-one meetings with founders and executives.

Likewise, corporations can leverage Gateway to source cutting-edge technologies and identify potential partners, while founders can connect directly with investors, prospective clients, and strategic allies to scale their operations.

Furthermore, we are utilizing advanced networking and matchmaking tools so participants can arrange key meetings well before stepping foot at the Summit. We want to remove the randomness from networking and ensure the right decision-makers connect seamlessly.

For us, the key question at the end of Gateway shouldn't be “Which presentation did you like best?” but rather “Who did you meet, and what deals will follow from that meeting?” That is the exact ROI we aim to deliver for anyone crossing the Atlantic to join us in Málaga.

NC: Beyond traditional conference sessions, today's industry leaders demand practical, actionable learning. What specialized seminars, immersive workshops, and technology transfer labs can attendees expect?

CC: This is one of the areas we are reinforcing most heavily this year. We don't want Gateway to be just a place to hear about what’s happening—we want participants to understand how it’s done, test it out, and take home actionable insights.

One of our most unique formats centers around venture funding. Led by Iván García Berjano, we are gathering approximately 20 investors to construct a live, practical masterclass on startup investing. The goal is to demystify the investment “black box” by openly discussing what investors look for, the critical questions they ask, green flags, red flags, and the deciding factors behind funding choices.

We will also host highly practical sessions, such as Reental’s workshop focused on making alternative investments accessible, and "Tres en Forma"—a dynamic masterclass featuring three of Spain's most renowned investors: Jesús Alonso Gallo, Rodolfo Carpintier, and Néstor Salvador Boichenco, tailored toward business growth and scaleup strategy.

We are taking this hands-on philosophy beyond the stage as well. Our interactive Experience Zone will feature live tech demonstrations, Web3/gaming showcases, and immersive experiences, allowing attendees to see and test emerging innovations firsthand.

In summary, Gateway Summit 2026 operates across three core dimensions: understanding industry trends, mastering practical implementation, and experiencing innovation firsthand. That powerful combination of knowledge, action, and strategic networking is our defining value proposition.
