Pedro Pascal brought Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu to CCXP Mexico and reminded Latino audiences why he holds such a strong place in Hollywood.

At Centro Banamex in Mexico City, more than 2,000 fans gathered for a special preview of the new Lucasfilm film, where Pascal joined director, co writer, and producer Jon Favreau on stage with Grogu. Stormtroopers, lights, and a Star Wars preview opened the presentation before Pascal walked out to a crowd already waiting for him.

Latino audiences have always claimed Pedro Pascal with pride. He is one of the few Latino actors leading a franchise this large, and that visibility matters.

Pedro Pascal And Grogu In Mexico City

Pascal plays Din Djarin, the Mandalorian bounty hunter at the center of the franchise, while Grogu remains the small green character everyone came to see. Their appearance together became one of the biggest moments of the convention.

Pedro Pascal’s Chilean roots and the way he speaks about family have made him feel close to Latino audiences far outside Star Wars.

In Mexico City, that connection was obvious. The crowd treated him like someone they have followed for years, not simply another Hollywood star passing through.

The Mandalorian Returns To Theaters

After years of success on Disney+, The Mandalorian and Grogu reaches theaters on May 22, 2026.

The story follows the fall of the Empire, with Din Djarin and Grogu returning as the New Republic faces Imperial warlords still spread across the galaxy.

Jon Favreau directs and co wrote the film with Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor. The cast also includes Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White, and the film was shot for IMAX.

Why Pedro Pascal Matters

Pedro Pascal represents something Latino audiences rarely see. He leads one of Hollywood’s biggest franchises while still feeling familiar.

He speaks openly about his roots, stays close to his family, and moves through Hollywood without creating distance between himself and the people who support him. That is part of why Latino audiences continue to connect with him so strongly.
