Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio did not need to say a word. On Sunday, across cities scattered through 14 countries, a row of familiar plastic chairs appeared outside stadiums. No signs. No music. Only chairs — identical to the ones from the cover of “Debí Tirar más Fotos”.

The images quickly made their way to social media. In Chile, the chairs were set up outside Santiago’s Estadio Nacional. In Colombia, fans spotted them near concert venues. The same scene played out in Argentina, Portugal, Costa Rica, Italy, and Sweden. In Egypt, Poland, France, and Mexico, fan pages posted photos with mounting speculation.

No statement has come from Bad Bunny himself. But to those who have followed him closely, silence may be the biggest clue.

The ‘DtMF’ Chairs Return Home

In Puerto Rico, the chairs had already spoken. There, outside the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot, they were placed weeks ago as a symbolic announcement. Bad Bunny is set to perform 21 shows beginning July 11, all part of a series titled “No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí”, with concerts every weekend. It is a local residency of sorts, and one that quickly sold out.

The artist hinted that his global tour would follow. In a video released in January, he said: “Thanks to the music and the love that you give me through it, I’ve had the privilege of traveling and performing in different parts of the world. And it’s something I appreciate and enjoy a lot. Places I carry in my heart and really want to return to. I’m going back, to Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia…”

Fans in Chile, where he last performed in October 2022, have waited for confirmation. As the chairs were photographed in Ñuñoa, they readied for what seems increasingly inevitable.

A Year in Focus

Since “Debí Tirar más Fotos” debuted, Bad Bunny has remained visible, though selective in his appearances. On March 17, he modeled for Calvin Klein in an international campaign, appearing in intimate portraits wearing the brand’s signature underwear. On April 7, he performed a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR Music, stripped down in both format and mood, offering live renditions that aligned with the introspective tone of his album.

Yet it is not nostalgia that defines his current moves. Instead, there is control. He has not rushed out tour dates. He has stayed in Puerto Rico. “I promise you that before the year ends, I will tell you the exact day and time I will visit you. But for now, I’m in Puerto Rico, I’m home, I’m having a good time and to be honest with you, I don’t want to leave here.”

In silence, the “DtMF” chairs outside stadiums offer their own message. Tour dates may be near. But for now, the world watches, waits, and photographs the evidence.
