BELatina TV Went Glamping – And Loved It

In recent years, the ways in which we connect with others have changed. Whether it’s the new concept of social distancing or spending more time at home, outdoor experiences are now the preferred choice for many.

After all, going into nature is the ultimate getaway. It offers detachment from a reality that is often too fast-paced, pushing people to go back to the basics.

Did you know that camping is one of today’s favorite family activities?

In fact, in 2021 alone, 57 million households chose camping as an activity. Nine million did it for the first time in their lives, and 53 percent of all these campers were multicultural, confirming how our diverse communities are leading the way in transforming industries. Latinx households make up 13 percent of those campers.

Because camping has become such an integral part of people’s lives, Karent and James explored the wonders of it in the latest BELatina TV episode – all thanks to Kampgrounds of America, or KOA as they are commonly referred to.

Going strong for 60 years — and founded in Billings, Montana — KOA is the world’s largest system of open-to-the-public campgrounds with 525 locations across the United States and Canada. Known for leading in outdoor hospitality, KOA offers an array of camping experiences.

One of their experiences includes glamping — camping plus glamour. Though KOA caters to different types of campers — you know, the ones who use tents, RVs, tree houses, and more — Karent and James were given the opportunity to delve into glamping, also known as upscale camping. And they were delighted to learn how this type of camping involves more comfort and luxury rather than just roughing it out with a simple tent and a sleeping bag. (Although humor lends itself to a scenario where the BELatina TV hosts explore nature in a less than glamorous way.)

However, glamping does have much of an appeal and one that will bring plenty of satisfaction to families and friends.

Knowing that there is a multitude of unique KOA destinations, families can enjoy vacations and weekend getaways all while indulging in the beauty of the great outdoors. Best of all, it can be done on a budget!

The amenities found at KOA locations include swimming pools, playgrounds, and various forms of recreational activities — depending on the location — such as volleyball, basketball, and more. Many sites count on activity directors who plan activities for everyone from adults to children. You might even get lucky and find a wine tasting activity planned in the KOA location you visit.
