Regional Mexican music resonated through Paris Fashion Week for the first time, carried by the voice of Fuerza Regida’s JOP. The frontman performed during KidSuper’s latest runway presentation, From A Place I Have Never Been, inside a grand 19th-century hall at La Villette, a cultural landmark in northeastern Paris. The moment introduced the genre to high fashion’s most exclusive stage, a space it had never occupied before.

JOP Continues to Push the Envelope

JOP was the only Latin artist to take the mic during this specific show, performing an unreleased track that offers a glimpse into Fuerza Regida’s next chapter in 2025. As models walked through what was described as a “visual storm” of avant-garde designs and abstract artistry, his voice brought the raw emotion and grit that define regional Mexican music. The collaboration between KidSuper and JOP was a fusion of two creative forces pushing past conventions. The designer, known for his bold storytelling and unpredictable approach to fashion, found common ground with JOP’s fearless musical style, making this show unlike anything else at Paris Men’s Fashion Week.

Beyond his performance, JOP immersed himself in the world of fashion, attending high-profile events throughout Paris Fashion Week. He was dressed by Amiri for the designer’s runway show, where he sat front row alongside industry leaders. He also attended GQ’s exclusive Paris party, where fashion’s most influential figures gathered. Between these events, he spent time in the studio with artists and songwriters from Street Mob Records, including Armenta, Anuel, and Clave Especial, strengthening Fuerza Regida’s growing influence beyond music.

Regional Mexican Music’s Global Rise

JOP’s Paris Fashion Week appearance is the latest milestone in regional Mexican music’s expansion from a niche genre to a global powerhouse. Fuerza Regida, formed in 2017 in San Bernardino, California, has played a central role in this evolution, blending corridos with urban influences, trap beats, and unfiltered storytelling. Their music has broken records, dominated streaming charts, and filled arenas across the United States and Latin America.

What was once considered an underground movement has now reached an audience few could have imagined. Fuerza Regida and their peers have brought corridos tumbados to listeners unfamiliar with the genre, collaborating with some of the biggest names in Latin and global music. Their impact extends beyond sound — JOP’s presence at Paris Fashion Week signals a broader cultural shift, where regional Mexican music is no longer confined to traditional spaces but is now shaping conversations in music, fashion, and entertainment.
