Mexico City songstress Girl Ultra has delighted fans with her new single, “Punk.” Collaborating with Little Jesus on vocals, the singer showcases another element of her eclectic sound and accompanies the launch of her U.S. tour.

“Punk” is a preview of her forthcoming EP due out on Finesse Records this spring; and arrives this week with the announcement of Girl Ultra’s extensive 26-date North American tour beginning in May and running across the country through June.

The video for “Punk” was directed by GRLS (Lucca Necoechea and Diego Andlovin) and shot in the southern area of Mexico City, inspiration for the song and the upcoming EP.

The Mexican singer closed 2020 with “Amores de Droga,” a single accompanied by a video directed by Cole Santiago (Bad Bunny, Lorde) written by Girl Ultra. The video was shot on a 16mm film in Los Angeles with Pablo Sotelo of Inner Wave co-starring.

Earlier in 2021, Girl Ultra’s song “Rosas” was highlighted as one of the year’s best songs. “Rosas” fuses bolero with Latin R&B and left fans wanting more.

Now, “Punk” shows the versatility of one of the most influential artists on the Latin American scene.
