Myrka Dellanos, once celebrated for her role as the anchor of Primer Impacto, is now facing widespread condemnation after making inflammatory comments about Mexicans during a broadcast of La Mesa Caliente, Telemundo’s daytime talk show.

The Cuban-American host declared on live television that all Mexicans had ties to organized crime, insisting it was “proven” by the United States government. Her words have triggered an intense backlash, with many demanding her immediate removal from the network.

It’s important to note that the irony of her comments has not gone unnoticed. During her years on Primer Impacto, Dellanos’ primary audience was Mexican, as they have long been the largest Latino demographic in the United States. The show’s popularity was built on stories that resonated deeply with Mexican viewers, many of whom are now calling for her to be held accountable for her words.

Myrka Dellanos Claims All Mexicans Have Ties to Crime

The controversy began when La Mesa Caliente opened a discussion about Mexico’s government and its alleged relationship with drug cartels. Dellanos quickly pivoted to claim that not only was the Mexican administration linked to organized crime but that Mexicans themselves had direct involvement.

“What the president of Mexico is saying comes directly from a document released in the United States,” Dellanos said. “It says that the state of Mexico — I mean the country of Mexico — is aligned with drug cartels. People in Mexico say it’s true, and that’s the main reason why Mexico has been targeted.”

Her co-hosts appeared visibly uncomfortable, but the conversation took a darker turn when Dellanos doubled down. Without hesitation, she stated, “Verónica, all the people who come from Mexico… it’s proven.” The blanket accusation that all Mexicans were connected to organized crime stunned viewers. Dellanos continued to insist her claims were backed by the U.S. government, further fueling the outrage.

Viewers Call for Dellanos to Be Banned from Mexico

The reaction was swift and unforgiving. Viewers flooded social media platforms, condemning Dellanos for spreading a damaging and false stereotype that has long been weaponized against the Mexican community.

Many were especially disturbed considering Dellanos built her career on Primer Impacto, where she reported on stories that deeply affected the Latino community, particularly Mexicans. Now, those same viewers are leading the charge against her, accusing her of betraying the very community that once supported her.

Due to her comments, some people have even called for Dellanos to be banned from Mexico entirely, with demands for the network to publicly denounce her words.

    Silence from Dellanos and Telemundo

As outrage continues to build, Dellanos remains silent, refusing to address the growing calls for accountability. Telemundo has also yet to issue a public statement or take action, further angering viewers who believe the network has a responsibility to denounce the host’s harmful rhetoric.

The damage may already be irreversible. For many, Dellanos’ comments are a beterayl not only to Mexicans but to the entire Latino community that once embraced her. The conversation now shifts to Telemundo, as viewers await a response. Until then, the outrage shows no sign of slowing.
