Chuy Montana’s untimely demise has left the world of corridos tumbados shocked, leaving fans and colleagues mourning the loss of a great talent. The emerging star in regional Mexican music met a tragic end on Wednesday, February 7th, found lifeless by the Tijuana-Playas de Rosarito highway.

Initial reports paint a harrowing picture, suggesting that Chuy Montana fell prey to a sinister plot orchestrated by organized crime. It’s believed that he attempted to escape from a moving vehicle, leaving behind a trail of bruises and injuries. The grim scene was further marred by multiple gunshot wounds, purportedly inflicted by a 9-millimeter pistol.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by ‘Street Mob Records’ through a somber press release: “We stand in solidarity with his family during this time of grief. We kindly request understanding and respect during this difficult moment.”

But behind the tragedy lies the story of a dreamer, Jesús Nolberto Cárdenas Velázquez, who aspired to ascend within regional Mexican music. His journey began on the streets, where he seized every opportunity to showcase his talents near the San Ysidro border crossing in Tijuana.

“I started as a rapper, but my heart has always been in corridos. When I was at the border, I began with rap, jamming with others on the guitar, and we made quite an impression,” he reflected in an interview with journalist Ernesto Barajas, as reported by InfoBae.

Yet, fate had other plans for Chuy Montana. Encouraged by those around him, he went into corridos, where his voice seemingly found its true calling. It wasn’t long before his performances garnered attention, capturing the essence of regional Mexican music and captivating audiences.
