Social media is buzzing about HBO’s “The White Lotus.”

The comedy-drama’s second season just wrapped up on December 11, and fans were left with a million questions about all the personalities, including Aubrey Plaza’s character named Harper.

A reason for all Plaza-related chatter is that throughout the show, the half-Puerto Rican actress showed a different side of her usual dark-humor and sarcastic self – she tackled a more drama-filled role. Her character, Harper, was an outspoken, yet quiet character that like all the characters, was driven mad due to relationship suspicions.

We won’t spoil the second season for you, but what we will talk about is Plaza’s other popular acting roles – beyond “The White Lotus.”

‘Parks and Recreation’ (2009 to 2015)

In 2009, Plaza landed one of her first acting roles on the NBC comedy show “Parks and Recreation” as April Ludgate. Throughout the series, she’s known as the sarcastic and dark-humored character. Many adored her deadpan looks, and to this day it remains one of her most popular roles.

‘The White Lotus’ (2022)

“The White Lotus” second season was one for the books. If you’re confused about the plot, it’s basically a satirical murder-mystery show that has a theme that follows each character. In this season, it was all centered on infidelity. Characters went through actual cheating, stealing, or manipulating in one way or another. Aside from that, Plaza was just nominated for a Golden Globe under the category: Best Supporting Actress for “The White Lotus.” Good luck, reina!

‘Emily the Criminal’ (2022)

It’s been a huge year for Plaza. On Netflix’s “Emily the Criminal” she shows a thriller side to her acting. The movie is described as: “Desperate for income, Emily takes a shady gig buying goods with stolen credit cards supplied by a charismatic middleman named Youcef. Seduced by the quick cash and illicit thrills, they hatch a plan to take their business to the next level.” I don’t know about you, but it’s on my movie list this week!

‘Child’s Play’ (2019)

She’s diverse! In this slasher and action remake of the horror doll’s world, Plaza comes out as Karen Barclay. After getting over Chucky’s new face – it’s so different from other remakes – it’s worth watching to see Plaza in an action film.

‘Dirty Grandpa’ (2016)

Just for laughs. For this comedy, Plaza comes out as the raunchy Lenore trying to sex up an older male. It was so hardcore that she actually weirded out her co-star Robert De Niro: “By the time he’d show up, I’m in character. My character had one goal: To have sex with him. I was acting totally insane as the character because we were about to shoot. I don’t think he understood that wasn’t me. You’d think he would because he’s an actor and an amazing one.” Now, that’s hilarious!
