Mexican artist Hassan Kabande Laija, famously known as Peso Pluma, can’t stop making headlines. From his performance with Becky G at the Coachella Music Festival to dethroning Bad Bunny from the music charts, he is proving to be a force to be reckoned with. Like Peso Pluma, his colleagues from Eslabon Armado are also making their way to the top.

Founded in 2017 in California, Quartet Eslabon Armado started out as a passion project by three friends: Pedro Tovar, Gabriel Hidalgo, and Bryan Tovar. Shortly after, however, Gabriel left the group and the Tovar brothers enlisted Damian Pacheco and Ulises Gonzalez, allowing them to become a quarter. Regardless of the change, their come up has taken the fast lane.

Quartet Eslabon Armado quickly embedded themselves in the Regional Mexican genre. By 2020, their debut album, “Tu Veneno Mortal,” reached number one on the Mexican Regional Album chart and the Top Latin albums.

There is no denying that Peso Pluma and Eslabon Armado are on a mission to imprint themselves in the music industry.

The power of ‘ella baila sola’

At this point, you are probably familiar with their Peso Pluma and Eslabon Armado’s hit song, “Ella Baila Sola.” It’s all the hype on anything relating to Latinos on TikTok and other social media. For example, clips of the song can be heard all throughout TikTok – and it is used mainly by women with the goal to let viewers know they don’t need anyone to be happy. Well, it has now reached Billboard Hot 100’s top for the first time. This makes it the first regional Mexican song ever to hit the Hot 100’s top 10.

According to Billboard, Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma earned the Hot 100’s third Spanish-language top 10 this year, following two Latin pop hits: Bizarrap and Shakira’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” (No. 9, January) and Karol G and Shakira’s “TQG” (No. 7, March).

Have you jammed to “Ella baila sola” already? If you haven’t, this is your sign.
