Let’s Take a Day Trip to Chiang Rai in Northern Thailand

Nothern Thailand White Temple Belatina

If you are visiting the North of Thailand, Chiang Mai should be on your list, but you can’t also forget about visiting the city of Chiang Rai, which is only a little over 3 hours from Chiang Mai. You can go to Chiang Rai, the city of colorful temples, for a weekend getaway or just simply on a day trip.

In this video episode, Olga Maria of Dreams in Heels goes on a day trip to Chiang Rai and covers some of the top things to do in one day. You can expect to join her on a visit to the beautiful Singha park, walk around the tea plantations, while enjoying the fresh smell of the grass, the beautiful views, and other activities. She also visits two famous temples in Chiang Rai: Wat Rong Seur Ten (known as The Blue Temple) and the Wat Rong Khun (known as the White Temple.) The Blue Temple is a modern Buddhist temple well-known by its vivid blue coloring & elaborate carvings. Olga fell in love with the magnificent blue interior and with the White Buddha found inside, especially the one standing at the back of the temple. On the other side, the White Temple is known for its depictions of heaven and hell. It is a super unique temple!

Olga also stopped for food at an organic farm that grows the flower Butterfly pea and serves the freshest food. Press play to join Olga on this day trip! It was an authentic adventure with a local tour guide from Take me tour Thailand.
