Latina director Yara Estrada Lowe has recently made waves with her latest film “Demise,” a riveting thriller that has been acquired by Gravitas Ventures, an Anthem Sports & Entertainment Company. 

Set against the backdrop of the San Fernando Valley, “Demise” tells the story of Celine, a devoted wife whose world is shattered when she discovers her inability to bear children. As if that revelation weren’t enough, Celine’s life takes a dark turn when she uncovers her husband Caleb’s affair with Fiona, who is pregnant with his child. With her marriage abruptly dismantled, Celine embarks on a journey of obsession and revenge, determined to reclaim control over her shattered life.

Who Is Yara Estrada Lowe?

Born and raised in East San Jose, California, Yara Estrada Lowe’s journey into filmmaking began at a young age. From starring in plays to directing re-enactments of commercials and television shows with friends, she harbored a deep-seated passion for storytelling. After studying Theater Arts at San Jose City College, Yara made the bold decision to pursue her dreams in Los Angeles, where she immersed herself in the entertainment industry. 

Despite facing numerous challenges, Yara’s determination and talent propelled her forward. She honed her skills as an actor and worked behind the scenes on film sets, gaining invaluable experience as a script supervisor, first assistant director, and director. In 2016, Yara wrote the screenplay for “Epic Love,” a feature-length romcom, and self-funded its production, showcasing her versatility as a filmmaker. 

In 2021, Yara embarked on her latest endeavor with “Demise,” a feature-length erotic thriller that showcases her directorial prowess. Against all odds, she brought her vision to life, completing the film and preparing it for screenings and sale. With “Demise,” Yara Estrada Lowe cements her status as a rising star in the world of cinema, poised to make a lasting impact with her compelling storytelling and dedication to authentic representation. 

“Demise” will exclusively debut on VOD on February 27, offering audiences a glimpse into Yara’s cinematic universe. Yara Estrada Lowe continues to inspire with her craft and her determination to share stories that matter with the world.
